OSSD

Wellington Academy operates according to the Ministry of Education in Ontario’s high school syllabus, uses the Ministry’s designated teaching materials, offers high school credit courses for Grades 9 to 12 (equivalent to the junior to senior year in China), teaches in small classes, and strives to meet the personalized needs of all students, and awards the graduates with the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).

The Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) is one of the most advanced high school programs in the world and is highly recognized around the world for its high quality and rigorous teaching and management, and is the universal diploma for entry into universities around the world.

Wellington Academy’s graduates are eligible to enroll in prestigious universities and colleges in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, and other countries and regions, with a probability of entering a world-class university that is over 90% higher than that of Chinese high school graduates.

Through Wellington Academy’s mature credit transfer system and teaching guidance, students have a high acceptance rate to apply for top universities after graduation. To obtain the Ontario Secondary School Diploma, you only need to fulfill the following three major requirements:

Canadian universities will only assess grade 12 grades with limited reference to grade 11 marks.
Meet the Ontario English Language Proficiency Requirements: pass the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) or take the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Course (OSSLT).
Completion of 40 hours of community service.

Wellington Academy employs senior teachers with more than five years of experience in teaching IELTS, and is equipped with additional IELTS intensive preparation courses, making the school’s IELTS teaching one of the best in the Toronto area. Wellington Academy is an official IELTS test center, making it easy for students to take the test in real time.

Daily Schedule

Wellington Academy offers students the highest quality of instruction through an intensive and responsible daily schedule. In addition, WA is one of the a few schools in Canada that has an early morning study period from 8:30-9:15 a.m., where students are supervised by a teacher to ensure the maximum amount of study time and the highest quality of learning.
